Sun Sun Mr. Golden Sun

Isn't it lovely to wake up to blue skies and sunshine!!! It makes me want to leap out of bed, and start the day! Looks like Mother Nature is going to give us a glorious weather weekend for our Easter holiday. I think my friends and I are going to spend it on the beach and boardwalk.

First I better get some things together for Easter baskets and I am so excited to be able to have an Easter Egg Hunt this year. My BFF Hope has her step-granddaughter here from England. I met her last night and I am smitten. Her name is Scarlett, she is 2 years old and looks and acts like she is from a storybook. A charming little thing with the cutest accent. "Hello, fancy a cuddle?" she asked me when meeting. I am looking forward to hiding eggs and coloring them with her. Which just a little side fact, they don't do in England. Leave it to us Americans to dye eggs bright colors.

My parents always had egg hunts for me, and I always found my Easter basket hiding in a tree, or behind a bush. Each year the "Bunny" would leave toys and goodies because I was the child who did not like chocolate. (Please why cant I still be like that!!!) A new Barbie doll, sand toys for the upcoming beach season and of course jacks and a jump rope. As I grew nail polish and jewelry took the toys places. Up until the year before my Mom passed away I found a basket waiting for me. I miss that tradition!!

Ann tells the story of the year her son Brad started college, he did not come home for Easter that year so she didn't make a basket for him or of course hide eggs. But he was upset even at the age of 19 not to have one and reminded her often how she forgot him on Easter. So...she vowed until the day I am to old to stuff an egg you will have a basket and an egg hunt!! Now the tradition carries on with her 3 grand kids.

Have a lovely holiday with your family, good luck finding the golden egg! To our Jewish friends may you and your family have a blessed Passover season.

Spring!!

Last night was the first evening I slept with the window open....aahhh the cool breeze...having fresh air in the house. Doesn't this weather make you want to throw open the windows, clean the patio furniture and plant pansies....all project I hope to accomplish this weekend. Until Mother Nature says no...I am declaring it Spring!!!

We are working on dressing up the outside here at the store for Spring. We learned a long time ago not to add any decor until the winter had subsided and Huddy's hosted there St. Pat's celebration!
Darling Easter candies arrived yesterday....oh so cute chocolate covered rice crispy treats pops with adorable chicks and eggs. HUGE chocolate lollipops of bunnies and lambs and my favorite...citrus bark..mmmm (check the pops out above)
Invitations, Invitations....remember we have NO minimums...have a spring dinner party and
invite your guests with a lovely custom invitation.
Off to decorate....see you soon

March Madness

It suddenly seems that everyone just remembered they are getting married this summer.
We have been meeting with couples on a daily basis assisting them in their invitations and decor for their weddings. I love getting to know each couple and then working with them to design details for their events. Sometimes it's something simple like a favorite color or place that will be the inspiration for their decor and invitation logo. Or sometimes we dig in and find what inspires them and represents their personality. Its a long process but one I enjoy and have to say pretty good at.
It's always so nice to hear "How did you figure out what I wanted, I didn't even know what I wanted?"

That's what our new Studio here at Mulberry is all about. Making events personal...not just picking what everyone else has...not just using the same ole invite that 100's of others have but finding and creating what inspires you. What says..."This (party-wedding) feels like (insert bride, groom or host here).

A huge box of First Communion Favors and Gifts just arrived....more invites to do...
I am so lucky I have a job where I get to be around for happy events!!!

If you know a couple getting married or someone planning an event, please send them in to see us. If they decide to use our services we will say thank you to you in a VERY special way.

Who was the guy who sang Let it Snow? We dont like him!! Enough please! We say that and then
it starts and it looks magical and you realize you have the whole day home and you sorta sink in and go with it. It's a perfect way of forcing us all to slow down for a day, no errands, no rushing kids around after school. Time to make soup and pancakes for supper. Time to clean out the closet you keep avoiding. Of if you are like me, movies and knitting. Tonight we are going to take home Stonewall Kitchen pancake mix, cornbread and barefoot contessa brownies. Snow days also mean no calorie days dont they?
